Went to this place for lunch on a Sat. The food in general is good and the prices are also good.
We got Teh Tarik (milk tea) which was about 5 dollars, Milo Tarik (chocolate drink) for about the same price, house red wine which was 10 dollars.
For food we got Nasi Lemak Chicken Curry (18 dollars), Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang (21), Cheese Dosa (about 12), Roti Cheese (12) and a fried rice (13).
The helping for the Nasi Lemak Chicken was very generous.
Finding parking was a bit challenging

We love that this place has come to our neighbourhood. It’s my go to in the area now and it’s great they now have ice cold Tiger beer on tap, for when I don’t feel like my favourite Teh Tarik. All the dishes I’ve had have been great but my favourite has to be Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken. Highly recommended.

As a Malaysian, this place really hits the spot!! Incredible authentic flavors, good price and good portion sizes. Roti Canai was made to order and made from scratch, not the frozen roti one can get from the Asian supermarket. Dosa was crispy and came with 3 sauces, dhal, coconut chutney and chicken curry, all delicious! And for $9, Bargain!
Mee goreng had the wok hei IYKYK. Big prawns in there too. Bryani with beef rendang was my favorite. The beef was so tender and so flavorful, just cannot imagine how the chef could impart this much flavour in a dish. Fantastic! Will be back.

Thinking I would try the dosa I was lucky that on my first visit plain dosa is a Tuesday special, only $5! Amazing value.
The pancake was very tasty and cooked just right. The sambal delicious. The mint chutney had potential but maybe not quite fresh.
Already looking forward to trying the Sunday Banana Leaf special $15.
Located just a stone's throw from Bassendean train station if you don't drive.
Warm service and chef was happy to answer my questions about some menu items.

We recently dined at the Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe in Bassendean, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our visit was memorable.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including Maggie Goreng, Mamak Mee Goreng, Roti Banjir, Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry, Char Kueh Teow, and Roti Kaya, along with drinks like hot Teh Tarik and Sirap Ice. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic Malaysian flavors that transported us straight to the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur.
The Maggie Goreng and Mamak Mee Goreng were perfectly spiced and incredibly satisfying. The Roti Banjir was a comforting blend of textures and flavors, while the Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry was rich and beautifully presented. The Char Kueh Teow had that unmistakable smoky "wok hei" flavor, and the Roti Kaya was a delightful way to end the meal on a sweet note.
The Teh Tarik was expertly brewed—smooth, frothy, and just the right amount of sweetness—and the Sirap Ice was refreshingly vibrant.
We highly recommend Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe for anyone craving authentic Malaysian cuisine. The food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. We’ll definitely be returning to try more of their amazing menu!
